(an'ĕ-mom'ĕ-ter),
An instrument for measuring the velocity of air flow.
[G. anemos, wind, + metron, measure]

anemometer

(a″nĕ-mom′ĕ-tĕr) [Gr. anemos, wind + -meter]
In pulmonary function studies, a device for measuring the rate of air flow through a tube. The rate at which air flows into or out of the lung may be measured by using a calibrated anemometer.

where [omega] is the rotational speed of the anemometer rotor, I is the moment of inertia, [M.sub.A] is the aerodynamic torque, and [M.sub.f] is the frictional torque that depends on the air temperature, T, and the rotation speed, [omega] (from [10]: [M.sub.f] = [B.sub.0](T) + [B.sub.1](T)w + [B.sub.2](T) [[omega].sup.2], where coefficients [B.sub.0], [B.sub.1], and [B.sub.2] are negative (the friction torque, [M.sub.f], in expression (1) has a negative sign in the updated version of [5].
These newer measuring devices, typically hot wire or hot film anemometers, while much more accurate, convenient, and portable, are highly dependent on measurement location, sensor tip geometry, and temperature sensitivity.
The anemometer isn't sophisticated enough to measure wind direction on it its own, but instead uses the smartphone's compass, accelerometer and GPS.
The theoretical analysis of DC plasma anemometer was firstly proposed by Mettler in 1949 [7], which is also applicable to AC plasma anemometer.

[9]) do not consider the inherent property of the terrestrial wind in ground vicinity, which is characterized by spatiotemporal, turbulent fluctuations with correlation length scales not exceeding several metres [10], In a specific example pertaining to HDVs [4], the terrestrial wind speed and direction measured in proximity of the test track midpoint are used as reference values to calibrate the onboard anemometer readings taken during the same time interval, irrespective of the vehicle's position along the track.
This anemometer is the ideal solution to prevent hazardous operation in high wind conditions.
574493 or email owen.hughes@ pleaded with members of Anglesey Council to stop, get out of their bus and listen to their concerns about giving planning consent for an anemometer at Llanddona.
At each location, hold the anemometer at arms-length.
Just stick the self-adhesive base to the shrinkwrap's surface, and the vent's blades, coupled with anemometer cups, circulate 30 cubic feet of air per hour with a 10 mph breeze present.
The rotating vane hygro-thermometer anemometer provides accurate humidity, air velocity and temperature measurements in harsh environments via a user-friendly and intuitive interface.
