amphiarthrosis

(am″fē-ar-thrō′sĭs) [ amphi- + arthrosis]
A form of articulation in which the body surfaces are connected by cartilage. Mobility is slight but may be exerted in all directions. The articulations of the bodies of the vertebrae are examples.
