SNTA1(redirected from alpha-1-syntrophin)
SNTA1A gene on chromosome 20q11.2 that encodes alpha 1 syntrophin, an adaptor protein that binds to and organises the subcellular localisation of various membrane proteins. SNTA1 may link receptors to the actin cytoskeleton and the extracellular matrix via the dystrophin glycoprotein complex. It also plays a key role in synapse formation and in organising UTRN and acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular synapse.
