COL21A1(redirected from alpha 1 chain-like collagen)
COL21A1A gene on chromosome 6p12.3-p11.2|6p12.3-p11.2 that encodes the alpha chain of type-XXI collagen, a member of the FACIT collagen family (fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices). Type-XXI collagen localises to tissues containing type-I collagen, and is thus thought to play a role in maintaining extracellular matrix integrity.
