(2) A variant of acute leukaemia, where the peripheral blood reveals pancytopenia and few discernible blast cells on peripheral blood smears; leukaemic cells are seen only by a bone marrow biopsy.
Aleukaemic leukaemia is uncommon and histologically slotted into the non-lymphocytic, non-myeloid and non-monocytic category by the ICD-O code; cases of aleukaemic leukaemia and aleukaemic myelosis may be subsumed under myelodysplastic syndrome

aleukaemic leukaemiaA kind of CANCER of the blood, in which abnormal white blood cells are produced in the bone marrow, but do not appear in the blood.
