Pros Effective pesticide; induces a “natural” red colour and increases shelf life.
Cons One of Alar’s metabolites, UDMH, is carcinogenic (increased cancer risk, 5/106 individuals exposed over a lifetime; the US EPA considers >1/106 a cause for action).
