aggressive periodontitis type 1An autosomal dominant condition (OMIM:170650) characterised by severe and protracted gingival infections, leading to tooth loss.
Defects in CTSC, which encodes cathepsin C, a ubiquitous lysosomal cysteine proteinase, cause aggressive periodontititis type 1.
