AP3D1

A gene on chromosome 19p13.3 that encodes a subunit of the heterotetrameric AP3 complex, an adaptor-related protein complex that is not associated with clathrin. The AP3D1 subunit is implicated in intracellular biogenesis and trafficking of pigment granules, and also possibly of platelet dense granules and neurotransmitter vesicles.
