ATF1(redirected from activating transcription factor 1)
ATF1A gene on chromosome 12q13 that encodes a transcription factor of the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins, which regulates the expression of downstream target genes involved in growth, survival and other cellular activities.
Translocation of ATF1 to FUS on chromosome 16 or ATF1 to EWSR1 on chromosome 22 generates chimeric proteins in angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma and clear cell sarcoma, respectively.
