acromioclavicular traction test
(ă-krō″mē-ō-klă-vik′yŭ-lăr) [acromion + clavicular]A maneuver used to identify acromioclavicular and costoclavicular ligament sprains. As the patient sits or stands with the affected shoulder hanging in the neutral position, the clinician pulls the humerus down. A positive test result is marked by a visible separation between the acromion and distal clavicle.
