ALDH1A1(redirected from acetaldehyde dehydrogenase 1)
ALDH1A1A gene on chromosome 9q21.13 that encodes a cytosolic aldehyde dehydrogenase that plays a major role in detoxifying aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. The ALDH1A1 gene may be involved in regulating the metabolic responses to a high-fat diet.
