Q. I am uncomfortable with my weight.

My very close friend who is out of my country is planning to come to my place next month. It is going to be our first meeting. I am uncomfortable with my weight. How Fast Can I Lose Weight?
A1A friend should accept you just the way you are. You should do the same.

Its just apprehension or anxiety from the first encounter. That's to be expected. Your friend is probably feeling the same kinds of things.
A2hi Olivia, I have about 40 pounds overweight to have a "normal" weight for my height. I know your feeling to feel yourself uncomfortable. Nature is a slow system. A Sequoia grows not in one day such high! If your friend is really a friend he/she will understand you. You can tell him, that you have started to do something to control better your weight. Start easy and increase slowly whatever you do. Go swimming, buy perhaps a home-dresser and change you habit of food and beverags. This is the main problem we have to keep in mind.
please read this page about diet:

and also about artificial sweeteners twiting our bodies:

ask me whatever you don't understand in these articles! thank you Olivia.

Q. What are good ways to loose weight?

A1diet and exercise, start a nutrional diet, eating fruits and veggies, stay away from fried foods, and remember to exercise, what ever exercise works best for you, diet with no exercise will leave you with flabby skin,
A2there are only one good way- the hard way. this is very important for you to understand that "fast" does not equal "good". a good diet is one that you loose weight slowly and while changing lifestyle. stop eating junk and starting to give attention to what you put into your mouth. and of course - exercise.
good luck!

Q. how to lose weight without losing muscles

AExercise, especially one that increase the muscle mass of your body (i.e. weight lifting). In addition to the (relatively small) caloric expenditure during the exercise time itself, it's main effect is an increase in the BMR - the energy your body expends regularly, so you actually burn more calories during your daily life, even when not exercising.

Paradoxically, this will result in gaining (or not losing) weight, but with decrease in the body fat percentage, which means that the body lose fat and build muscle.

This kind of exercise is more suitable for men, since due to the lack of androgens women have much less potential to increase the muscle mass.

And of course remember you should consult your doctor before you start any exercise plan.

Q. How do i lose weight?

A1I think that the key to weight loss is not so much as dieting but taking control over what and how much you eat. I eat at least six times a day, thats four meals and two snacks. The protions that i eat however are not that big. I mostly just eat until I'm full or just satisfied. I really dont excercise either except for walking and I have lost 55 pounds over about a 3 or 4 month period. I LOVE food and the few diets that i did try didnt work, either because I was still hungry or I just didnt stick to them long enough to see results. I don't know if this works for everyone, but it worked for me. I think this worked because eating six meals a day kept my metabolism running almost constantly, so i ended up burning more calories than i took in. This may not take the weight off fast, but it can help you lose weight and keep it off. Hope this helps.
A2i loosed 30 lb and sticked to my weight for the passed 4 years. and the best advice i can tell you is- there are no magic solution,
i tried every diet in the book, you loose weight but then it comes back like a boomerang. the ONLY way to loose weight properly is by changing your way of life. eating a balanced diet and doing sport. it'll take a while to loose weight (could be after a few months that you'll loose 0-1 lb. a month) but in the long run - you will loose weight.

crossing fingers for you!

A3I have a pot belly myself but didn't have until my doctor put me on Paxil. I haven't taken it since sometime in 2001 but I still can't lose the weight. I only eat 1 meal a day and that's breakfast which consists of a bowl of cereal and a banana. I don't like hot or cooked food so I never eat what I cook. If I were 100 lbs overweight I would have the gastric bypass.

Q. What are good ways to loose weight?

A1the right diet and exercise, avoid diet pills they will help you lose the weight but it will leave you with flabby skin, with the right diet and exercise you can lose it all.
A2What works best for me, and is recommended by all doctors, is losing weight gradually, with a balanced diet and calorie watching- around 1200-1400 calories a day, combined with moderate physical activity. (Either 30 minutes a day of fast walking or 3-4 times a week of 45-60 minute walk). If you like other sports fields you should engage in it them on a regular basis. That is the best way.

Q. how can i lose weight

i am a 15 year old and overweight i need to lose 50 pounds.
A1i would go talk to your doctor about a diet and fitness plan, also look into what kind of fitness centers are available in your area, and take the list with you to the doctors...
A2Our weight usually reflects our life habits - this weight doesn't come from the air but rather come from food we ate without spending it with physical activity. Therefore, the way to weight reduction is to change our LIFESTYLE - otherwise, one may lose weight during the diet period but will gain it again quickly after he or she resumes their old habits (that resulted to the weight gain in the first place).

First thing, you should examine what you eat and compare it to what you should eat, and see what kinds of unnecessary food you should avoid. Consulting a dietitian may help). Next, you may try exercise, depending on your age and physical status. Both aerobic and anaerobic exercises have their advantages and role in losing weight. Remember to consult you doctor before you start any exercise plan.
