Q. Can you develop and allergy to water?

I know it sounds strange, but in the past month every time my 4 y/o nephew takes a bath his hands and feet get itchy. Or at least that’s what he complains about. At first my sister thought he was just making it up – you know how kids don’t like to shower, but now she is going to take him to the doctor.
A1Aquagenic pruritis is a condition that results after exposure to water of any temperature. Symptoms develop within minutes and may include itching, burning or even a prickly sensation. Most times there are no skin changes, although a faint, bumpy, itchy red rash may occur. The symptoms last from 10 minutes to several hours, and usually are experienced on one or more of the following skin surfaces: Chest, back, arms or legs. While the exact cause of this condition is uncertain, some investigators suggest it is a result of extreme skin sensitivity (but not allergy) to an added ingredient (chlorine, fluoride, others) or mineral present in the water.
A2i"ve never heard of anyone having an allergy to water, but could be something in the water that could cause an allergy,or could be a reaction to soap, or cleaners used to clean the tub.

Q. Is drinking too much water harmful?

Is there a condition like “water overdose”?
A1Drinking more water then you are used to is very good for you. But of course if you over do it it’s damaging. Drinking way too much will make you urinate more, this means you will also loose vital minerals in the urine like potassium and sodium. This can even lead to death.
A2Well if u drink to much water it doest harm u.. accoading to some studies.
A3Every year in the “October fest” in Germany there are people hospitalized because of heart failure from drinking too much beer. The body can’t withstand this amount of fluid and can’t remove it all (urination). the heart can’t withstand the amount of liquid it has to pass around. So it collapses. Drinking too much can be harmful.

Q. Has anyone used Kangen Water?

Its alkaline with high antioxidants and micro clustered oxygen molecules (Japanese Technology) Enagic Manufactures it.
A1on a site ( they say to clean up the organic waste which is in your body, but they say nothing about the anorganic stuff. so the question is for what it should be usefull, when it works only partially? if you like to drink a healthy water to keep your body in good shape, buy a still water in glass bottles - not plastic because this is anorganic - write on the bottle a good quality like "love", "harmony", "peace", "purity" and so on it. with this word you will "charge" the water with this quality. wait a day before you drink the water. you will so bring the water in your cells in resonance with this water and so impregnate yourself with the quality you have chosen. for more information about this, consult Dr. Masaru Emoto's website . Water is not just H²O!
A2from the dawn of times people were always afraid of death and disease. and from the dawn of times other people used that fact in order to make easy profit out of it. there's always someone who tries to sell "wonder potions" that can cure cancer, kill any bacteria, immune against any fungal infection and make barren women fertile as the fields of the garden of eden... just because they gave it a fancy "scientific" explanation - doesn't make it true.

Q. Why is water important in diet?

I am 19 years old and handsome (as others say). Peers say that I can try for a modeling career. I tried two to three agencies and was selected. My screen test is next week is. But now I am facing a new problem that I fear will spoil my career. The problem is, I eat all types of food that have different vitamins. I go to a fitness center. But I am not healthy and have a dry complexion. My friends and others say that I must consume more water daily. Why is water important in my diet when I consume enough and more vitamins?
AHi handsome! Water is good for the skin. It cleanses your immune system. It flushes out all the toxins. I drink more than the recommended average of eight glasses a day. I have a jug from Walmart (I would buy it if I were you when trying to drink more water). This jug can contain an equivalent of 8 glasses of water. You drink that then you are good for the day. I drink almost 3 jugs in a day. Water = Health. It helps keep you hydrated and helps your kidneys.

Q. How does drinking a lot of water before an activity helps to avoid dehydration?

Question Description It just makes me go to the bathroom more…
A1you need to drink water before, during and after any sports or exercises, because you sweat which causes dehydration.
A2You go to the bathroom more but you don’t let all of the water you drink out. Some of it stays and help you withstand bigger effort without dehydrating. B.T.W- if you’ll drink slowly – sipping every 2 minutes for an hour, you’ll get better results. Your body needs time to absorb all that water. So drinking a bottle in 2 minutes will just make you urinate it.
A3when we do sports we perspire more water then the usual, I’m sure you noticed that ? . if you drink water before your activity you fill the body reserves with water – hence you have more water to begin with and less chance of dehydration.

Q. I know I’m supposed to drink 8-10 cups of water a day – but I feel it’s too much for me.

I try to drink 8 cups a day but I just can’t continue with it long, I just find myself going to the bathroom every 30 minutes. Any idea?
A1when people thought of this genius theory of drinking 10 cups a day they didn’t take in consideration the amount of water we get from our food, the idea that people working construction need more then 8 cups, that people that work in an air conditioned office and don’t tend to move around too much don’t perspire as well as construction workers. They just took the average data- we loose this amount of water, so we need to replace it. You should listen to your body and not to wise guys.
A2gatorade is also good,or powerade.they keep you hydrated, and are good for you too.but still drink 4 to 6 cups of water.

Q. I have found that my body weight has high proportion of water in total weight..

I have found that my body weight has high proportion of water in total weight, and it makes me to take less water and there by increasing my thirst, which in turn stresses my body a lot, what can I do to reduce this problem…..?
A1Your body has a way of compensating when it is lacking something. When you are dehydrated, your body will retain fluids, hence the excess water.
drink plenty of water daily and you will find that you will lose this puffiness as your body adjusts to getting what it needs.
A2Stop taking diet rich in processed food and food which have preservatives in them and extra salts as these foods give you extra sodium which increases your body water content by retention of fluid. Take extra water to flush this sodium from your body, whether you feel thirsty or not and increase in food which are rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium, which you can get from bananas, spinach, almond, yoghurt, green leafy vegetables will definitely help you.
