Q. What is a brain tumor?

AA brain tumour is any intracranial tumor normally either in the brain itself in the cranial nerves, in the brain envelopes, skull, pituitary and pineal gland, or spread from cancers primarily located in other organs (metastatic tumors). It is created by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division. Primary (true) brain tumors (which start in the brain) are commonly located in the posterior cranial fossa in children and in the anterior two-thirds of the cerebral hemispheres in adults, although they can affect any part of the brain.

Q. Is this a tumor?

I felt a lump in my breast a few days ago in the shower. Is this a Tumor? Help! I'm scared.
A1If you felt a lump in your breast then you should go see your Doctor to check whether or not it is something that could be dangerous.
A2is the lump growing, although i would still make an appointment to see a doctor as soon as possible, this is not something you want to wait and see if it grows or something else.
A3Although any lump formed by body cells may be referred to technically as a tumor. Not all tumors are malignant (cancerous). Most breast lumps – 80% of those biopsied – are benign (non-cancerous).

Q. Do all cancer types involve tumors? If so than having leukemia means you have tumors in your blood?

Acancer is human cells that are mutated and lost control on their proliferating state. they just multiply and multiply without any regulation. blood cells are not attached so they don't form a "tumor" (in Latin means- a bump)if becoming cancerous.

Q. Is a bone tumor cancer?

My son is 10 years old and his Doctor found a tumor on his bone in an x-ray he did to him. Is this cancer?
AA bone tumor doesn't necessarily mean cancer. It could be a benign tumor and not a cancer one. Your son's doctor may then obtain a biopsy sample of the tumor. This involves taking a small sample of the tumor that can be examined in the laboratory to determine what kind of tumor it is. The biopsy can be obtained either through a small needle (needle biopsy) or through a small incision (incisional biopsy).

Q. How do doctors find out if a tumor is malignant?

What procedure is done to see if a tumor is malignant? Is a simple MRI enough to make that conclusion?
A1Some sort of cancer are known to develop malignancy quickly, then Dr. can tell you that. But to be absolutely sure- a biopsy is taken.
Here is a web site with all the information you need about cancer:
A2MRI can see the tumor, nothing else. But it can spot sometimes other metastases and then it can say you probably have a malignant cancer. But doctors just perform a biopsy- they cut off a part of the tumor , freeze it up, slice it to vary thin layers, paint it and look under the microscope. Then they can say if it’s malignant or not.
A3 no a mri is a to see the mass the only way to know for shor is eather cut it out and test it or to stab a rather large netdel in to the mass and test the sapel
