Q. I have a pain in my big toe, what is it?

I keep on having shooting pains from my big toe, especially at night. What could it be from?
A1Go see your Doctor as he can determine the joint's condition with an X-ray. Arthritis (such as arthritis caused by gout) is among the most common reasons for toe pain.
A2This could be gout. The most common sign of gout is a nighttime attack of swelling, tenderness, redness, and sharp pain in your big toe. You can also get gout attacks in your foot, ankle, or knees. The attacks can last a few days or many weeks before the pain goes away. Another attack may not happen for months or years.
See your doctor even if the pain has gone, for further diagnosing and treatment.

Q. how to treat nurve pain in my toes

the top of my toes fell like they are aburning
A1Neuropathy can be treated by nutrition and several form of alternative medicine, like acupuncture.

check out this article on Peripheral Neuropathy from the Gale Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine to learn more:

A2Well it depends on your age and other diseases you may be suffering from, for example- if you have diabetes, nerve pain / tingling is a known phenomenon because of the damage that is caused to the small nerve fibers of your feet and hands. This can be treated with medications that help ease this sensation, and either way you should consult a doctor and get examined before you start any treatment.

Q. my guy friend has a very sick looking toe nail, what should he do?

its really thick and has ridges, its also dark yellow and it looks to me has thick toe jam too... ugh, he needs your help please!
AIt sounds like Toenail fungus. Symptoms of toenail fungus, which can be caused by several types of fungi, include swelling, yellowing, thickening or crumbling of the nail, streaks or spots down the side of the nail, and even complete loss of the nail. Toenail color can vary from brown or yellow to white with this condition. I suggest your friend goes to see a foot doctor. The doctor might remove as much of the nail as possible by trimming, filing or dissolving it. Medicated nail polish might be prescribed for a localized infection, but a serious infection will likely be treated with a prescription oral antifungal medication. Only in severe cases will surgical removal of the nail be recommended.

Q. what natural cure for toe nail fungus really works?

AHaven't heard about anything natural that was actually provent in reliable, well controlled trial. Especially since natural medications usually aren't tested in this way, I'm not sure there can be an accurate and true answer for this question.

Q. Does anybody know what can be done about a very itchy red rash on ones' toes which comes back every few months

I've used different sorts of creams such as Lamasil. It's really bothering me and I'd love to get a few directions before I give up and go see a doctor.
ASounds like 'Athletes foot'. Here is a website that lists some remedies for it:

Q. what else besides athletes foot can cause painful itchy burn tops of toes

if the toes are bumped they throb and it hurts to flex toes, small red spots on toes
Amaybe only an allergic reaction is able to do so. but i would go on the athlete foot theory. or as they say "it's much more common to find horses and not zebras in America" 99% of the time it's an athlete foot. but it's o.k- it's relatively easy treatment.

Q. My wife ran a fever 3 days ago. Now has red rash head 2 toe. Her feet r Swelling and she is weak. Any sugg.

Any suggestions? She is feeling weak and her feet appear to be swelling.
A1A woman with swelling feet is also suspecting kidney problem because she has only one kidney after her right kidney was removed 24 years ago. She is also diabetic and also taking regular medication for her high blood pressure. Any one of the medications might cause the symptoms. please advise. thanks
A2i suggest a doctor. could be a bunch of things- could be that an infection attacked and now the body reaction attack her body, could be that the infection caused a systematic problem. your wife should be examined by a Doctor.
