Q. I am alright as of now…….but what steps I can take to prevent it?

my dad is bipolar 2 for many years and almost he has led his life as a bipolar …………as it is genetic effect is known…..I too fear myself on the bipolar vestibule …….I am alright as of now…….but what steps I can take to prevent it?
A1Unfortunatley there is no way to prevent bipolar disorder. Until the medical community finds a cause for this illness, we will only be able to treat the symptoms. You can practice a healthy lifestyle of eating well and getting planty of excercise and sleep, but this is no guarentee that you will never develop symptoms of bipolar. The important thing is to be aware of the symptoms, in the event that you develop symptoms of bipolar you can seek help right away. Try not to spend too much time and energy fearing this illness, just be aware and live your life to its fullest. It will do you no good to worry about developing symptoms of bipolar. If you are not suffering any symptoms right now than be greatful and carry on with your life. Stay aware so you can seek help if you do begin developing symptoms. I wish you well.
A2I am the wife of a bipolar. I don't think you can avoid it entirely, however - my husband avoided negative effects of it for 40 years. Besides a few bumps in the road in adolescence, he lived an entirely normal life. I believe he was able to do this due to good diet, exercise and focus on the good - church helped with this. We have been together for more than 15 yrs and he has kept it at bay with these things, but when stresses pile up - it bursts.

I believe I answered your questions here - good luck.
A3It’s difficult to find any straight prevention ways…………..rather it is difficult to diagnose even as you know. It is better if you feel or anyone notice that you have gone through any episodes and you start on your treatment the earliest is the best option for prevention.

Q. What steps do you take when your physician says your sodium is low

A1Drugs That May Be Prescribed By Your Doctor for Hyponatremia(low sodium):

Sodium levels must be corrected carefully. If your blood test results indicate you have a very low sodium level, your healthcare provider will cautiously correct the levels, to a "safe level."

Intravenous (IV) fluids with a high-concentration of sodium, and/or diuretics to raise your blood sodium levels.

Loop Diuretics - also known as "water pills" as they work to raise blood sodium levels, by making you urinate out extra fluid. The fluid that is lost (called "free water") is usually replaced with an IV solution that contains a high level of sodium.

A common example of this type of medication is Furosemide (e.g Lasix). You may receive this medication alone or in combination with other medications.
A2Well, it depends on the reason. Sometimes it happens because one's drinking too much, so the answer is to drink a little less. Sometimes it happpens when swaeting during exercise, so you should drink balanced fluids instead of water. What did your docotor told you?

There are also salt tablets.

Maybe this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyponatremia) can give you some more answer.

Q. I like to know how do drugs that I take during pregnant step by step affects my developing baby?

I know that pregnant women should not consume alcohol. But now I like to know how do drugs that I take during pregnant step by step affects my developing baby?
A1I just wrote an article about "pregnancy and alcohol". Just thought it might be an additional information for you.
Here is the link :

A2Drugs such as cocaine may affect the blood supply to the fetus, thus retards the growth. Drugs may have many direct teratogenic (causing malformations), and moreover, drugs may cause deterioration in the health and general well-being of the mother, thus adversely affecting the fetus.

You may read more here:

A3It is good that you know about the bad effects of alcohol during pregnancy and most of the drugs, including tobacco and alcohol which passes from your bloodstream into the baby and the baby gets what you get. Because your baby is small and still developing it can't handle drugs as easily or as quickly as you can.

Q. What benefits have you recieved from nutrition and fitness What step did you take to begin and stay motivated

perticularly if you were depressed and/or addicted
AToday, after working in the gym for more than a year, I feel much better, I have a anew interest that challenges me and sets goals for me every time, and also let me find new people with this common interest. Of course, I look much better now, and it really improves my feeling and general well being.

If you suffer from depression or addiction, exercise may help you, although consulting a professional, as before starting any exercise program may be necessary.

Take care,

Q. What do you do when one gets an Asthma attack? like what is the drill and what steps i need to do in order to

help him ?
A1First thing to do before you have an attack is to find out what your triggers are like smoke,cats,dogs,food,dust--get yourself a pulmonary dr.He will take test to find out what is causing your attacks-also drugs an alcohol can have effect on asthma--if you already have this, try your inhalor first,if it is not helping go to the emergency room at your hosp--mrfoot56.
A2if he has an inhaler- give it to him. don't give him other people inhalers - that can lead to a very bad effect due to medication mixing. if not- try calming him down, and it might be a good idea to call an ambulance if it looks severe.
