Q. What Is Bell's Palsy?

A friend of mine has been told she has Bell's palsy. What happens in this disease?
A1Bell's palsy is defined as an idiopathic (from an unknown reason) unilateral facial nerve paralysis, usually self-limiting. The trademark is rapid onset of partial or complete palsy, usually in a single day.
Here you can learn more about what exactly is Bell's palsy-

A2Bell's palsy is a paralysis of the facial nerve resulting in inability to control facial muscles on the affected side. Several conditions can cause a facial paralysis (brain tumor, stroke, Lyme disease),however, if no specific cause can be identified, the condition is known as Bell's Palsy. Bell's palsy is the most common acute mononeuropathy (disease involving only one nerve), and is the most common cause of acute facial nerve paralysis.

Q. What are the causes of bell's palsy?

A1I had it 5 years ago at age 20. All the symptoms of the above are correct not to mention the tiredness and rapid blinking of the eye from the effected side.

In my case I have just found out that I have a non milignate tumor behind my left eye which was likely to be the cause of the Bell Pausy in the first place. I encourage anyone who has symptoms or pain spanning more than 8 weeks to see their doctor and if possible request request or demand a MRI scan for peace of mind.

If pain persists get a second opinion and dont let the Dr. shrugg you off.
A2Several conditions can cause a facial paralysis (Bell's palsy, e.g., brain tumor, stroke, and Lyme disease. However, if no specific cause can be identified- they call it idiopathic.
A3The onset of Bell's palsy usually is sudden. Many people wake up in the morning and find that one side of their face is paralyzed. Patients often fear that they have suffered a stroke, but Bell's palsy is not related to stroke. Milder symptoms include tingling around the lips or a dry eye, and usually progress quickly, reaching maximum severity in 48 hours or less. Viral infections such as herpes simplex, herpes zoster (shingles), chickenpox, mumps, mononucleosis (mono), or HIV, and bacterial infections such as Lyme disease or tuberculosis can cause inflammation and swelling of the facial nerve leading to Bell's palsy. A brainstem tumor, skull fracture, or neurological condition caused by chronic disease (e.g., diabetes, Guillain-Barre syndrome) can also lead to Bell's palsy. Q. I go to sleep & use to wake up paralyzed in my sleep.

I go to sleep & use to wake up paralyzed in my sleep. But not asleep, just laying there, eyes wide open paralyzed. I couldn't breath, I couldn't speak, move anything but my eyes. I could look around but I couldn't even breathe. This has happened a few times in my old house, once in my mother's house (she lived by the side of a graveyard), and then only once in my new house. What is it and what do you think is causing it?
A1I had the same problem but never at night...and it only happened during the day when I take nap. I will wake up and I can't move or talk, I can't open my eyes either. I've never been able to snap out of it though, I just have to lay there until I go back to sleep, and usually it doesn't happen when I wake up the next time. Needless to say I try NOT to take naps anymore, because it happens nearly every time.
A2Hi, I join you because I have the same symptoms. It will occur once in a while like every three months. But it sometimes makes me to feels as if somebody is holding me down and shaking me and I can't move. I haven't really concentrated on breathing, so I don't know if I am able to. But, I have tried to yell and get up, but moving is not an option. I will see dark figures sometimes in the room or faces, which makes me feel like I am being possessed. I have heard that these symptoms are caused by stress, anxiety, or being bipolar. I have also heard that in such cases you may have to concentrate on your fingers and try to move them. I haven't got a chance to try this out yet, but I will the next time it happens. If you try it and if it works, let me know.
A3I have the same symptoms. I sleep and have visions of a person or people, and when I wake up I feel like I can’t move or breathe. Outside sounds like a buzzing turns into a whispering voice saying "get up" and the only thing I can do is touch my fingers to whatever is near. The way I dealt with this is to not drink alcohol and sleep comfortably with no blankets by my face. Try not to be scared and go back to sleep. If this doesn’t work then contact doctor immediately.

Q. Do you want to end because of a vaccination in a wheel chair?

It is already about 12 years ago. I met a mother with her kids. One came always in a wheel chair to the services. His terrible story is still in my mind. It could be shown, that because of a vaccination he got the cytomegalovirus infection (CMV) and then spastic paralysis.
A1Corrigendum: If you know somebody speaking German and English who could...
A2If you know somebody speaking German and English how could make translations of texts, I would have mountains of reports here with me in German. Perhaps it is also a reason why I am sometimes sleepless?
A3Of course the doctors didn't want to give any comment about this fact. It took a long time, before this boy could again speak and laugh. It is with the help with homeopathic medication, that this result could be achieved. I think it is time that you start to learn and teach yourself about these facts, which some lobbies and trusts and organizations try to hide from us. But there is one thing those have not learned.
President Abraham Lincoln said:
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
This is why it is important that you read me, that you ask me to learn. If you don't do so, you will fall in the background.
