Q. Multiple Myeloma what and how is it treated and what is MGUF
|A||Were you referring by any chance to MGUS (monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance)? It's a condition that resembles myeloma but is much more widespread and by itself isn't considered malignant. It may, however, deteriorate to multiple myeloma over the years.|
Myeloma is treated with chemotherapy of various kinds, and sometimes with bone marrow transplantation with the patients own bone marrow.

Q. my Dr. said to take no more than 400 iu of Vit. E. But I noticed my multiple also has 200 IU. Is this bad?
I have been taking 400 units to combat Peyronies. I noticed today that my Centrum Silver also contains Vitamin E. I know taking over 400 units can be toxic, so now which way do I go from here. Thanks for any info.
|A||in general, an over dose is not a very smart thing to do also in vitamins. and taking to consideration that you may have a diverse amount of vitamin E in your diet..well..you may take too much. but i have to be honest with you- i'm not a Doctor. and the one i would ask in that matter is my Doctor. all you need to do is phone him.|
Q. What is MS?
I am 14 years old and my best friend has been diagnosed with MS. What is it? What causes it? Can I catch it?
|A1||Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the central nervous system (CNS), causing demyelination (loss of myelin). The myelin sheath helps the neurons (nerves) carry electrical signals. When having MS there is a thinning or complete loss of myelin and, sometimes, the cutting of the neuron's extensions or axons. When the myelin is lost, the neurons can no longer effectively conduct their electrical signals. It may cause numerous physical and mental symptoms. MS is not contagious and does not shorten the life expectancy of those who are diagnosed with the disease. Although the disease may not be cured or prevented at this time, treatments are available to reduce severity and delay progression.|
|A2||I found a great animated movie that explains all about MS and what causes it. MS is not contagious. Here is a link to the movie:|
