Q. How come juice help in regular diet of a person....

how come juice help in regular diet of a person and will there be side effect if taken in excess?
AAbsolutely there is no question of side effects as long as you are consuming fresh fruit juices. They give you all the essential diet nutrients and are easy to digest. They just supplement you with all the nutrients a fruit or vegetables can give and is helps you maintain a good health.

Q. Would kidney stones affect a PSA reading? Would drinking lots of grapefruit juice affect a PSA reading?

My husband's PSA reading jumped from a 4.2 to a 17 in @ 2 years' time. How can that be? This man takes all sorts of supplements and really watches his diet. He also takes good care of his body, and does NOT look or act 68.
A1You should get your parathyroid gland checked out. Your calcium level might be causing the kidney stones.
A2thanx tzfanya; I also forget that he does NOT have a spleen. This has lead to false diagnoses, such as gonnorhea, when it was just a bad cold that settled in his gut. The doctor sure got a talking to about THAT!
A3Does your husband have any problems with urinating? Does he have to wake upat night to urinate? (He may not share these problems with you voluntarily so you may not know about it.)
In many cases, high PSA do results from problems in the prostate but due to simple and not dangerous problem rather than cancer. It's called BPH, and you can read more at wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benign_prostatic_hyperplasia)

Q. What foods or liquids, juices, proteins, fruits, are good for Male Prostate or Urinary Frequency?

I am 53 YO Male with exessive urinary frequency. Is there a fruit, food, drink, pill, mojo, that would help me with this problem? I am talking about urinating 3 to 4 times every night, and or while watching TV, every hour or so. No pain, yet, an occacional after drip that is very anoying. Perhaps I have a prostate problem and should consuld with my Urologist. Yet, before I go there, does anyone know of something I can eat or drink to fix or aleviate this problem?
A1Thanks for the heads-up. One of my issues is that I LOVE coffee, thus, reducing my daily consumption of 2-3 cups could be a problem.
A2I don't know about any food that specifically targets this problem, although some steps you may take include avoiding fluids prior to bedtime or before going out, reducing consumption of mild diuretics (substances that make you produce urine) such as caffeine and alcohol, and double voiding to empty the bladder more completely.

You may read more here (www.mayoclinic.com/health/enlarged-prostate-bph/BP99999 ), and as you wrote, consulting a doctor may be wise.

Q. My family doctor advised me to cut smoking and to have more orange juice and didn’t give any meds. Why is it so

I work in suburban zone in a construction site. My worksite is very dusty and polluted as lot many industries also exist there. While coming home I face huge traffic pollution. It’s a 1 hour journey. This creates stress to me. My family doctor advised me to cut smoking and to have more orange juice and didn’t give any meds. Why is it so?
A1YEah, probably your doctor believes that by increasing amount of anti-oxidants inside your body, your body will be able to fight the negative effect from the pollution.
the chemical pollution can come from anywhere in our daily living. that's why it is recommended for all of us to strengthen our body defense by eating healthy foods (and even consume multivitamins), and stop the activities that will harm our body (such as smoking, alcoholic drinks, etc.).

Fruits and some vegetables (you can try: orange, apple, berries, tomato, grapes, etc.) are believed to have high content of anti-oxidants, so it will help our body to remain healthy.
Good luck and stay healthy always!

A2I am working in radiation polluted environment where we had training on the health hazards due to pollution and its management in radiation zones. There, I got to know that inhalation of dust and pollutants from industry and traffic and smoking tobacco leads to free radical production in body. This is the source of majority of diseases in the world. These free radicals create stress in the body in chemical form. So, your general form stress from work can’t be avoided much but cutting on smoking can help you to reduce free radicals. That’s what your doctor wants. You can fight with these free radicals by intake of fruits, thus Oranges were prescribed.
