Q. Happy Holidays

Happy holidays to those of you who are celebrating it this year!
A1Fatman, Irus, and everyone in,
I wish you all the best and warm wishes for this christmas and may all the blessings follow our days in welcoming the upcoming new year.

Stay healthy always..
A2Thanks Irus! Have a great one!
A3Thank you very much Fatman. Merry Christmas and a very happy new year of 2009 for you and your family.

Q. what makes someone happy

what is love?
A1Happiness has to do with how grateful a person is, how much meaning they find in their lives and how much joy they get from being of service. It has nothing to do with money once one has been fed and is warm and dry.

Love is temporary insanity; that is, falling in love. True love, selfless love, is truely an act of egolessness and is our natural state.
A2your health,family and friends

Q. Is bipolar is like swiping moods that come and go? one time you are happy things are bright and clear

and suddenly you are all complicated with your self and with your surrounding and you are moody and depressed ? is sudden change of mind is the correct definition to a Bipolar Disorder or i did get it all wrong ?
Agood question! most people don't know that Bipolar disorder is not just mood swings that come and go every now and then (if it was - my wife should be diagnosed as bipolar:)) ). it is consisted of long episodes of mania or depression. an episode can be a month or even 6.

Q. On Joy and Sorrow Kahlil Gibran

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven? And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives? When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
A1without experiencing joy we could not recognize sorrow. and consequently, without sorrow we could not recognize joy.
A2kahlil gibran is a wonderful poet!! and this is a great quote!!
A3Joy and sorrow are two different things. Many folks out there only think of the physical side of humanity. Of course, the sorrow of being Bipolar patient is not a joy in itself;nevertheless, the joy of being able to live life worthwhile even through ups and downs is inexplicable in physical terms.

Q. United happy family but now...

We are a united happy family with married brothers, sisters and their families. Our father died when he was suffering from Bipolar1. Now one of my sisters is diagnosed as Bipolar II. We are afraid that our family happiness will vanish soon. Please let me know about the difference between bipolar1 and bipolar11 and what the treatments available are?
A1Hey pete,
Any family that is dealing with Bipolar disorder will have some difficult and trying times. you obviously love your sister so just be patient and supportive to her. Encourage her to take medications as perscribed and encourage her to get theropy, I think these steps are invaluable to a person with bipolar. Bipolar ii is less severe than bipolar 1. Bipolar ii is usually free of the hillucinations etc... However is still very serious and needs to be treated appropriately.
I hope your family stays strong through all your struggles, with the right support and theropy/meds and the love of her family your sister should do well in learning to manage the illness...
A2I do not know the different classifications of these disorders. I suffered from episodes of severe depression for many years. The Anti-depressive medications did not help. I was starting having manic episodes about every 3 years. They got worse each time until the last time I ended up in the psychiatric hospital. Since then I have been on some new medications: Resperidol and Lamictal. I had been taking Effexor for years so the doctor kept me on that. I would like to know what medications are taken by other bi-polar 1 patient.
A3No, I didn’t because I have been diagnosed with bipolar 1 with hypomania & my diagnosis was released to my employer by kaiser yet I am still employed as an lvn 30years. The chief of Psych. Kaiser Riv. Ca J. Witkowski released that diagnosis, but failed to diagnose my ptsd. Had Kaiser not contracted out with another hospital that stopped shock tx? DR Chief is been reported for abuse to pts and is pending state hearing but is now moved up in my company as an administrator at Kaiser Riverside Ca.

Q. Friends! I am not happy with my weight. How can I loose sum weight?

Friends! I am not happy with my weight. How can I loose sum weight? Just a baby fat… What is some good food to eat? Help, help and help me please.
ADear Liam, A good way to lose baby fat or extra weight all around is by doing aerobic exercises. These include running, bike riding, or hiking. Basically any physical activity that includes your whole body that keeps your heart rate up will best work for you. To get a good workout and tone up all over remember to do these exercises for more than 30 minutes to work up a good sweat. Warm up 5 minutes before working out and cool down 5 minutes after working out. Don't overwork yourself, the last thing you need is to injure yourself. By eating healthy food you can insure that your body will tone up and grow healthy and strong minus the baby fat. Good luck!

Q. I want to know how I can make myself happy.

My son lives far away from me for over a year now. He is the one of the best son, any mother would have. I love him very much. When he is away I am getting depressed. I have been struggling more than a year and I am getting restless every day. I have started feeling guilty whether I have forced him to go for marine engineering. This has made him away from me. I now cannot bring him back and do not want to disturb him. I want to know how I can make myself happy. How can I motivate myself and how can I learn to live alone without him.
A1Thank you brwnis65 for your kind words. I agree with you completely. Children are a blessing.
A2I agree with 123sun...keeping yourself busy and helping other's will help you. This will make you feel better about yourself and always you will see what other people are going through and will be more aware of your own blessings. You are blessed to have a child you rasised strong and able to set out on his own to achieve his goals! You might also look into mentoring program's for teen's. You sound like heplin gyoung people would be just what you need! You are sufferin gfrom empty nest syndrome I think and I am sure if you go tinvolved with something you could feel good abou ti twould help. Maybe even youth group at your church.
Good Luck!
A3elyif i were you i would get involved in charity work, its a great feeling helping others and you will make new friends, and your son would be very proud of you,and it will heal your lonelyness, its strange but in this big over populated world we live in we all seem to be lonley,if your alone its normal to feel blue, and try getting involved in a church GOD will fill your lonley heart,GOD BLESS,and i really think my idea would heal your pain.
