Q. What are carbohydrates and where they are found and what is their nutritional value?

A2They are compound made of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. They are commonly found in almost all food we eat like sugar, milk, cereals, fruits, vegetables, legumes, etc. Even pastries, snack food, beverages have carbohydrates in high amount. It gives energy to the body and makes you active and helps you to think and so is the main constituent of your diet.
A3They are called organic compounds- with saccharides being the most important, and include starch, celluose, and glycogen. Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for all bodily functions, as well as are necessary to metabolize the nutrients from the food you eat. If you are low on carbohydrates, you will be fatigued, depressed, and your heart will act weird from lack of electrolytes.
