Alisma orientalis

Chinese medicine
A perennial herb, the rhizome of which is used to treat bloating, fluid retention, urinary tract dysfunction and kidney stones.
 
Toxicity
Gastroenteritis.

Science supporting efficacy
Alisma orientalis methanolic extract may have hepatoprotective effects on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in rats.
