After a period of 9 mo different plots received different soil fauna combinations: (a) 1 collembolan species (Orchesella cincta or Tomocerus minor or Isotoma notabilis) at densities natural for that site at that time; (b) a combination of the three species, each one at one third of the natural density; (c) complete soil fauna, i.e., natural abundances of the major taxa, including predators.
