alcoholisation

A term with a range of definitions:
(1) The act of reducing a substance to a fine or impalpable powder— e.g., esiccation or lyophilisation.
(2) The act rectifying spirit (alcohol).
(3) Obsolete term for the saturation with alcohol; putting the animal system under the influence of alcoholic liquor.
(4) A near-extinct term for the therapeutic use of alcohol.
