CACNG5

A gene on chromosome 17q24 that encodes a gamma subunit of a voltage-dependent calcium channel, which regulates AMPA-selective glutamate receptor (AMPAR) trafficking and gating. It promotes
AMPAR targeting to the cell membrane and synapses, and it modulates their gating properties by slowing their activation, deactivation and desensitisation. It has subunit-specific AMPA-receptor regulation for GRIA1, GRIA4 and an isoform of GRIA2.
