Sir Francis, English author and philosopher, 1561-1626. Bacon syndrome - syndrome based on Baconian principles that man exists to control nature, man and nature are enemies, and man intervenes and regulates nature through repetition and predictability. Physicians adhering to these principles destroy diseases without regard for danger to nature/environment.
