She also detailed some of the
AOP's achievements over the past year centred around the theme of education, including the Creating healthy, low-stress optical practices guide, the Voice of Optometry survey, Don't swerve a sight test campaign and children's eye health supplement.
The review's recommendations have the potential to improve outcomes for
AOP's members, not only in gross negligence manslaughter investigations but also in civil and regulatory cases.

AOP chief executive, Henrietta Alderman said: "We know that raising the profile of optometry is extremely important to our members, and the Voice of Optometry survey is an essential part of this.

Next year, the policy team will look at producing more statements, and is keen to hear if there are any new topics that
AOP members think should be covered.
The third survey will invite practising members to share their experiences and views on a range of subjects across optics, with invitations to take part emailed out from the
AOP's SurveyMonkey account in the new year.
The regulation of optical devices and medicines and the effect on the supply of optical goods are also covered alongside whether Brexit will have an impact on how the
AOP works with international bodies.
