A64077An experimental therapeutic which inhibits the 5-lipoxygenase pathway of arachidonic acid metabolism, which attenuates the bronchoconstriction response in asthmatics to cold air and allergen-induced nasal constriction, a response attributed to the eicosanoids produced by 5-lipoxygenase—e.g., sulfidopeptide leukotrienes, 5-HETE, and leukotriene B4.
