XX-Male syndrome

XX-Male syndrome

A congenital cause of male infertility in which individuals are born with male external genitalia (and gonads that are testicular rather than ovarian), while having a 46-XX karyotype (the karyotype that is usually associated with the human female). Most XX-males have a gene that determines male sexual characteristics appended to the end of one of their X chromosomes.
