Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale

Abbreviation: WAIS.
A commonly used intelligence test to evaluate cognitive function in people over 16. It consists of seven verbal and seven nonverbal (performance) subsections. It assesses vocabulary, verbal comprehension, verbal reasoning, short-term memory, arithmetic skills, problem solving, visual perception, logic, and visual-motor coordination.

We used the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, fourth edition (WISC-IV) (Wechsler 2003) to assess cognitive abilities when the children were 7 y of age.
For measuring intelligence, the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R), Stanford-Binet Intelligence Test, and Ankara Developmental Screening Inventory were used.
As opposed to its predecessor, which only gave a single, overall intellectual score, the newest series of the Wechsler assessments, the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children--Fifth Edition (WISC-V), appeals to clinicians and other professionals as it utilizes the CHC model and measures multiple indices to identify strengths and weaknesses in a student's cognitive profile (Wechsler, 2014).
The children were given the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children--Third Edition (WISC-III) (14) before beginning lessons and prior to entry into the first grade, as well as standardized tests of academic achievement.
