WLS

A gene on chromosome 1p31.3 that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor which regulates the sorting and secretion of Wnt proteins by a feedback regulatory mechanism. WLS plays a key role in regulating expression, subcellular location, binding and organelle-specific association of Wnt proteins, and plays a key role in establishing  anterior-posterior body axis formation during development.
