WDR16A gene on chromosome 17p13.1 that encodes a member of the WD-repeat protein family, which are involved in various cellular processes, including signal transduction, RNA processing, remodelling the cytoskeleton, regulation of vesicular traffic and cell division.
WDR16 is thought to play a key role in the growth and survival of hepatocellular carcinoma.
