WRAP53(redirected from WD40 protein Wrap53)
WRAP53A gene on chromosome 17p13.1 that encodes a member of the WD-repeat protein family that is essential for the telomerase holoenzyme complex, as it controls telomerase localisation to Cajal bodies. WRAP53 is involved both in maintaining basal p53 mRNA levels and p53 induction in response to DNA damage.
Defects in WRAP53 cause dyskeratosis congenita autosomal recessive type 3.
