WASF2(redirected from WASF4)
WASF2A gene on chromosome 1p36.11 that encodes a downstream effector involved in transmitting signals from tyrosine kinase receptors and small GTPases to the actin cytoskeleton. WASF2 promotes formation of actin filaments; it is part of a WAVE complex that regulates actin filament reorganisation by interacting with the Arp2/3 complex. It is expressed in all tissues, but especially in the placenta, lungs and peripheral white cells.
