The area over which some form of visual perception is possible while the subject looks straight ahead. The visual fields normally extend outwards to about 90 on either side but are more resticted below and above. Parts of the fields may be lost as a result of GLAUCOMA, retinal damage, optic nerve disease and brain disease.
