- Laterally: Bladder pillars (superior portion, that is divided by the ureter), pubocervical ligament (
vesicouterine ligament in clinical term) (10),
Sharjah: A Sharjah hospital has claimed that one of its surgeons has performed the UAE's first laparoscopic surgery to correct
vesicouterine fistula (VUF) on a 30-year-old mother, saving the woman from relatively greater pain that a conventional surgery would have caused.
Once the uterus and
vesicouterine space were dissected, bladder and uterus were completely detached and the VUF fistula was clearly exposed.
Clinical presentations of
vesicouterine fistulas may be early or late and are mostly represented by amenorrhea, urinary incontinence, and macroscopic hematuria during menstruation (menouria) [2, 9].
There are several reports of internal hernias into the rectouterine pouch and
vesicouterine pouch [4, 5].
The urogenital fistula constitutes the vesicovaginal fistula, ureterovaginal fistula,
vesicouterine fistula and the urethrovaginal fistula.
Post caesarean
vesicouterine fistulae Youssef syndrome: Our experience and review of published work.
On the left side in the
vesicouterine pouch and partly on the vesical peritoneum, there was a round hemorrhagic mass, about 3 cm in diameter, with grayish ruptured capsula, filled with almost black coagulated blood (Figure 2).
The
vesicouterine peritoneum is incised over the anterior uterine wall, and the bladder is backfilled so that its boundaries may be identified prior to further dissection.
The
vesicouterine peritoneal fold is identified and hydro dissection done in which 20-30 ml of saline is introduced with needle in the
vesicouterine space for dissection of bladder.
Located in the pelvic cavity, it is supported by the broad, round and cardinal ligaments, as well as by the rectouterine and
vesicouterine folds.
The
vesicouterine fold, at the lowermost edge of the bladder, defines the demarcation between the upper and lower cervix.
