African Green Monkey Kidney Cell

A cell line taken from the kidneys of the African green monkey, Cercopithecus aethiops sabaeus, and used to grow certain viruses (e.g., poliovirus and influena A and B) for vaccine production.

Vero cell

A lineage of cells used in cell cultures and isolated from kidney epithelial cells of the African green monkey (Cercopithecus aethiops).
