A gene on chromosome 19q13.2 that encodes a putative housekeeping chemokine, which regulates recruitment of nonactivated monocytes and immature dendritic cells into tissues and may play a role in the innate defence against infections. CXCL17 plays a role in angiogenesis and possibly in tumourigenesis.
