(redirected from UV-damaged DNA-binding protein complex)UV-DDB complex
UV-damaged DNA-binding protein complex. A complex of two proteins—the smaller damage-specific DNA-binding protein 2, encoded by DDB2, and the larger damage-specific DNA-binding protein 1, encoded by DDB1—which are required for the nucleotide excision repair of ultraviolet light-damaged DNA. Defects of either DDB1 or DDB2 are associated with xeroderma pigmentosum.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc. All rights reserved.
