USP5

A gene on chromosome 12p13 that encodes an enzyme which cleaves branched multiubiquitinated polymers and is involved in unanchored Lys-48-linked polyubiquitin disassembly. It has a lesser affinity for linear and Lys-63-linked polyubiquitin.
