USP34

A gene on chromosome 2p15 that encodes a deubiquitinating C19 family peptidase. USP34 activates the Wnt signalling pathway downstream of the beta-catenin destruction complex by deubiquitinating and stabilising AXIN1 and AXIN2, leading to their accumulation in the nucleus and upregulation of beta-catenin–CTNBB1-mediated transcription. It is also a less preferred gene symbol for what is now designated as USP35, see there.
