USP25

USP25

A gene on chromosome 21q11.2 that encodes a deubiquitinating enzyme which hydrolyses ubiquitin moieties conjugated to substrates. USP25 processes newly synthesised ubiquitin, recycles ubiquitin molecules or edits polyubiquitin chains, and it prevents proteasomal degradation of substrates. It is widely expressed in most adult and foetal tissues.
