transient tic disorder

Simple tic Neurology A childhood disorder characterized by single or multiple motor tics–face, arms, legs, or other areas, often occurring 1+/day for 4 wks, which is either organic or psychogenic; TTD worsens with emotional stress and is absent while sleeping; tics may
be precipitated in predisposed children with ADHD when given methylphenidate–Ritalin. See ADD.
