Tier-4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. A term of art referring to the level of care under the 4-tier Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Framework, which is provided as essential tertiary services, including day units, highly specialised outpatient teams and inpatient units.

Child and adolescent psychiatrists, clinical child psychologists, community or inpatient nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, art therapists, music therapists, drama therapists, family therapists.

•  Secure forensic units;
•  Eating disorder units;
•  Specialist teams—e.g., for sexual abuse;
•  Specialist teams for neuropsychiatric problems.
