Thompson's test

A crude, obsolete clinical test described by Sir Henry Thompson (1820–1904), used to localise gonorrhoeal (or other urinary tract) infection; if turbidity or the "threads" of bacteria were identified only in the first of two glasses of voided urine, the infection would be considered to be confined to the anterior urethra.
