Resembling a feather in having parts or branches arranged on each side of a common axis: pinnate leaves; pinnate gills.
pinnate(of compound leaves) made up of leaflets arranged in two rows on opposite sides of the axis, or RACHIS.
featherlike; said of a muscle in which the fibers lie at angles to its tendon. The fibers may be unipinnate, bipinnate, etc.
