Terminal Deceleration Syndrome

A ghoulish euphemism for the range of findings—e.g., fractures, torn tissue, organ prolapse, rupture or tearing, etc.—which affects a person whose momentum in a particular direction was abruptly 'compromised'—e.g., jumps/falls from heights, RTAs/MVAs, impacts with bridges or building abutments and other non-resilient stationary structures
