(sŭb'sēr-ō'să), [TA]The layer of connective tissue beneath a serous membrane. Terminologia Anatomica recognizes a subserosa in relation to the bladder, esophagus, gallbladder, small and large intestine, liver, pleura, pericardium, peritoneum, stomach, testes, uterine tubes, and uterus.
