TRPV3

A gene on chromosome 17p13.2 that encodes a calcium-permeable, non-selective cation channel that functions in a variety of processes, including temperature sensation and vasoregulation. The channel is expressed in subsets of sensory neurons that terminate in the skin and are activated at temperatures between 22ºC and 40ºC. TRPV3 may associate with TRPV1 and modulate its activity.
