Since TSH deficiency can occur in conjunction with other pituitary hormone deficiencies (McCance & Huether, 1997), baseline labs for the TRH stimulation test included measurement of cortisol, prolactin, and somatomedin C or insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I).
